Taman Ara Permai house extension: wet kitchen, bedroom and carpentry

This house was extended at the back and side for a wet kitchen and master bedroom, with a new fencing wall, a new front, a glass-roof awning, tiling and wood-grain carpentry inside. The photos follow the job from the old house through excavation, brickwork and slabs to the finished kitchen, carpentry and awning.

02 / How it went

How the job went

The before photos (December 2019) show the old house with its car porch, side garden and a narrow back yard under a blue awning. From March to June 2020 the photos follow the extension: excavation and footings, rebar for the ground slab, brick walls with window openings and the upper slab, with the side lane concreted beside the new fencing wall. By November 2020 the extension walls were plastered and new windows fitted. The interior photos from September to December 2023 show the carpentry, kitchen, staircase wall and glass-roof awning finished.

The grey cement-look wall was finished first, then the staircase got timber-look treads and a black steel railing.
